Nahri Organization: A Legacy of Service and Humanity Founded in 1850, the Nahri foundation has played a crucial role in regional history, particularly in providing education, healthcare, and orphan care. A key moment in its early work was its protection of Armenians during the Ottoman Genocide, offering refuge and assistance to those fleeing violence. This act of courage set the tone for the foundation's unwavering commitment to defending the rights and dignity of vulnerable groups. Throughout its history, the Nahri foundation established schools, orphanages, and hospitals, becoming a pillar of support for communities in crisis. This legacy of compassion and justice continued until 1927, when, due to the political instability and changes in the region, the foundation was unable to maintain its operations. The shifting political landscape of the time posed significant challenges, forcing the foundation to cease its activities. However, the spirit of the Nahri foundation was reignited in 2018 with the formal establishment of the Nahri Organization. Building on its historical values, the organization focuses on healthcare, protection, and livelihood, reaching over 1 million beneficiaries in Iraq and Northeast Syria. Through its partnerships with national and international NGOs, Nahri continues to provide essential services to displaced persons, refugees, and underserved populations. With a strong commitment to equality, freedom, and independence, Nahri Organization carries forward the foundational values that have shaped its work for more than 170 years, remaining a cornerstone of humanitarian efforts in the region.
